Community Survey Results Indicate Strong Support for Potential Bond Issue

For the last several weeks, Fox C-6 has been exploring a potential zero-tax-increase bond issue for the April 2026 ballot to address critical facility needs and safety upgrades throughout our school district. This bond would not increase the current tax rate. It would be used to fund essential projects, including new roofs, HVAC systems, and parking lot repairs, as well as additional safety initiatives.

Beginning in October of 2025, the District hosted five different Community Learning Sessions to inform the public and gather important feedback from participants. Additionally, we spoke with staff at every building, and students at all of our secondary schools regarding the issue. At each meeting, people had the opportunity to fill out surveys to rank their highest priorities.

During the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, December 16th, the District presented all of that information to board members. One of the key takeaways from the survey is that 89 percent of more than 700 people who participated state that they’re extremely likely or somewhat likely to vote ‘yes’ on a potential zero-tax-increase bond issue in April 2026. Results were very consistent across the board, with nearly 50 percent of people determining that HVAC was the highest priority, followed by roofing at 39 percent. In the safety portion of the survey, the top three priorities were also very noticeable. 79 percent of respondents noted that safety enhanced exterior doors, lockdown capable classroom doors, and a rapid incident response system are the most important features to them.

With all of the information provided, the Fox C-6 Board of Education directed district administrators to move forward in the process. The next step for the District is to work with our legal counsel to craft ballot language. This is essentially what voters will see on the ballot when they vote ‘yes’ or ‘no’ in April. The District will present the Board with potential language during the next Board of Education meeting in January.

Fox C-6 will continue to communicate updates about the potential ballot issue in the coming weeks. For more detailed information, please visit our FAQ page HERE.
